DUNWOODY & SANDY SPRINGS

Officially incorporated as a city in 2008, Dunwoody is a picturesque and prosperous community less than a half hour due north of Downtown Atlanta. It is located at the most northern tip of DeKalb County and shares a common boundary with Sandy Springs.  Dunwoody occupies a historic location on the Chattahoochee River and is home to the super-regional shopping facility, Perimeter Mall, encompassing a massive 1,554,288 square feet.  Outstanding restaurants and up-scale shopping are part of the Dunwoody vibe, along with housing opportunities ranging from historical to urban chic. Of even greater importance is that Dunwoody is one of the safest cities in Georgia.

Sandy Springs is a newly incorporated city (2005) of almost 94,000 residents. However, others come to Sandy Spring each business day. The population increases by almost 50% Monday-Friday as people report to work at the over 8,000 in-town businesses. Sandy Springs is Georgia's sixth-largest city. There are many new single-family homes, retirement communities, condominium and townhome developments, as well. In its February 2010 rankings of 420 U.S. communities with populations above 75,000, Portfolio.com determined Sandy Springs to be the 2nd wealthiest community in the South, and the 9th wealthiest in the United States.
